Getting Started

What is NoteVox?

NoteVox is an AI-powered tool that turns audio and video into transcripts, summaries, show notes, blog drafts, and reusable content. It works for podcast episodes, YouTube videos, interviews, meetings, lectures, and more.

How does NoteVox work?

You upload an audio or video file (or paste a direct URL). NoteVox uses OpenAI Whisper to transcribe the audio, and GPT-4 to generate summaries, key takeaways, show notes, and blog drafts from the transcript.

What file types are supported?

We support MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG, FLAC, WebM, MP4, MOV, and most common audio and video formats. Maximum upload size is 50MB.

Is NoteVox free?

Yes — you can use NoteVox for free without creating an account. Free usage includes transcription and all content outputs. We may add usage limits in the future for a paid plan with higher limits.

Do I need to create an account?

No. You can start using NoteVox immediately without signing up. No email required.

Transcription & Accuracy

How accurate is the transcription?

We use OpenAI Whisper, one of the most accurate speech-to-text models available. Clear recordings with minimal background noise typically produce highly accurate transcripts. Heavy accents, fast speech, or noisy audio may reduce accuracy.

What languages are supported?

Whisper supports over 50 languages. This includes English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Arabic, and many more. Accuracy varies by language.

Can I transcribe a full podcast episode?

Yes. For episodes under 50MB, upload directly. Longer files may need to be split, or you can use a direct link to the hosted audio.

Privacy & Data

Is my audio stored after processing?

No. Your audio files are processed and then discarded. We do not store audio data long-term. See our Privacy Policy for complete details.

Outputs & Features

What outputs do I get from a single upload?

From one upload you get: a full transcript, short summary, detailed summary, key takeaways, chapter breakdown, show notes, blog post draft, social media post, and title suggestions.

Can I export the results?

Yes. Every output can be copied to clipboard or downloaded as a plain text file.

Does NoteVox work for YouTube videos?

You can paste a URL to the YouTube video. Note that YouTube URL support depends on whether the video has publicly accessible audio. For best results, use a direct audio file URL or upload an MP3.

What is the difference between a short and detailed summary?

The short summary is 2–3 sentences — a quick overview. The detailed summary is 150–250 words with more context, structure, and nuance from the full content.

Can NoteVox generate podcast show notes?

Yes. After transcription, NoteVox produces a structured set of show notes including an episode summary, key topics, and main points — formatted and ready to paste into your podcast host.

How do I turn a transcript into a blog post?

Upload your audio, wait for processing, then go to the 'Blog Draft' tab in the results. NoteVox generates a full blog post structure with title, intro, section headings, and conclusion from your transcript.
